DID YOU KNOW, THE PALACE THEATRE IS THE ONLY HISTORIC AFRICAN AMERICAN THEATRE STRUCTURE STILL STANDING IN AUGUSTA. IT IS LOCATED AT 533 JAMES BROWN BLVD. AND IN NEED OF RESTORATION. THE THEATRE OPENED ~1920 AND CLOSED ~1923. THE BUILDING HOUSED VARIOUS BUSINESSES DURING THE YEARS WHICH INCLUDED THE PALACE RESTAURANT AND RED STAR CAFE.
